Eva presents the Eclypse de Mar for Children

In the fall of 2008, Eva’s time in Panama was spent in the Bocas del Toro archipelago. While Bocas is delightfully lacking in infrastructure; crystal clear water, coral reefs, bright sunshine and the Guaymi Indians inspired her new direction of decorative art for children's rooms.

Thanks to the native boat captain Salsa, who went out of his way and opened his world, Eva was able to visit a Guaymi community where she was enthusiastically greeted by the village schoolchildren. Eva was mesmerized by their beautiful brilliant smiles and their desire to have their pictures taken. The children were fascinated by Eva's blond hair and European heritage and her ability to talk to them in Spanish. It was hard to decide who was more intrigured by whom; Eva with the children, or they with her.

Eva was able to gain a firsthand perspective of the gentleness and beauty of the Guaymi, their art expressed through colorful and intricate beadwork, the spectacular vistas from their simple homes, and the energy expressed through their faces. Eva has once again transformed her impressions into an amazing collection of ideas that truly does justice to this striking area and the beautiful people.

Extracted form their individual artistic impressions, imagination, and fascinations; Eva will be the portal to create a unique room with faux, foil, texture, Tattoowall™ applications, stencil or imprints. The result will be an expression of the child, delightfully transformed in a wonderful and personalized private space. Each child's room will be as individual as they are.

In celebration of all that, the native children have done to inspire Eva's work and especially the warmth given by the Guaymi, a portion of revenue from all Nautillus commissions will be given to UNICEF Children of the World Fund.

Also, a heartfelt thanks to Marlena and Chango for their amazing hospitality during the stay at Eclypse de Mar.
